Community Live Oak Tree GrantAvailable to Mount Dora Residents up to $300
Plus FREE Delivery and Installation! Approved applicants can purchase a live oak for half the estimated cost up to $300 for planting in old town Mount Dora west of 441.The purpose of this grant is to provide affordable shade trees to homeowners and business owners for the restoration of tree cover in neighborhoods.
The Community Live Oak Tree Grant program is to increase the tree canopy cover in old town Mount Dora west side of 441. Studies have repeatedly shown trees help to capture storm water and reduce runoff, improve water quality, improve air quality, beautify communities, increase property values, reduce heating and cooling costs and improve human health. Mount Dora Friends of the Environment’s goal is to place 100 trees across the city through this grant program and other donations from homeowners, business owners and friends of the environment. The price of tree includes: tree, tree supplies (e.g. stakes, ties, mulch, watering/gator bags, tree guard, etc.), all site preparation, tree planting and delivery. You are responsible for any tree maintenance and irrigation after it has been planted. Maintenance will include watering your tree 15-20 gallons every day for the first year unless it receives at least one inch of rain. Where do I sign up? Once approved, Mount Dora Friends of the Environment will then deliver and plant the tree right to your home or business! Applications, the location of tree, and tree size must be reviewed and approved by Mount Dora Friends of the Environment. |
