It will be on ballot this November. A current conservation referendum is already on the tax roll, which will soon expire. This new 2024 referendum will not change your taxes, as it is the same rate as the expiring existing referendum.
Purpose of the Referendum: Due to relentless development pressure, the need to purchase land for open space is more urgent than ever. This is crucial to preserve our quality of life, protect clean water sources, and safeguard natural areas. Some of the properties that were purchased with the existing referendum are: PEAR Park, Lake May Reserve, Ellis Acres Reserve, Ferndale Preserve, Pine Meadows Conservation Area, Pasture Reserve, Neighborhood Lakes Scenic Trail & Trailhead, Mt Plymouth Lakes, and Green Mountain Scenic Overlook & Trailhead. We need your supporting vote on the ballot! We also need volunteers to help get the message out. And if you are so inclined, there is a donate button to power the message to Lake County voters.
Thank you!
