Marc Vaughn stands next to a young live oak tree he helped plant. Over the last several years Marc took action and planted numerous live oak trees to replace diseased and/or dying laurel oak trees in his neighborhood (with the help of the "Live Oak Gang" ~ David Stanley, Richard Huss and Tom Turner). In a surprise announcement at the Mount Dora City Council meeting on Aug 16th, he learned he's the 2016 recipient of the ACE: Award for Citizens and the Environment! Marc was recognized for his actions and a live oak tree will be donated by the Mount Dora Friends of the Environment to be planted at a location of his choice. THANK YOU, MARC for putting your "feet in the street and your hands in the ground", along with the Live Oak Gang and our City's Public Works crew, ten guys who received the AGE (Award for Government and the Environment)! Your action in planting trees benefits our entire community!
